CNC MACHINING

Within the Mega Metric Division, there are three separate operating functions. First, we stock finished, off the shelf, ready to ship large diameter metric fasteners. Our second operation is the Machine Shop. Here is where bolts and/or blanks can be modified to accommodate special length or threading requirements. Our third operating function is the CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) Department. This department maintains both vertical and horizontal CNC machines. These CNC machines can provide drilling, tapping, & threading in both right and left hand threads to meet our customer's tight tolerances and specifications

Mega Metric uses Cad/Cam programs in the CNC Department. These programs produce a computer file that is converted to extract the commands needed to operate a particular machine. Once this is done, the commands are then loaded into the CNC machines for production. With CNC machining, Mega Metric can offer the following services:

• Custom fasteners on demand.
• Single point threading to meet customer tolerance requirements.
• Custom Logo or traceability engraving.
• Same day or next day service.
• A wide range of in-stock material to meet most requirements.
• Small runs

Mega Metric offers additional outside services such as heat treating, plating and Certification from an A2LA lab. The CNC machines do not differentiate between metric and inch material. This means we can produce custom fasteners in inch even though our main focus is metric.
